Hung Vu

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

I was raised in Northern Virginia and earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia before going on to complete veterinary school at Virginia Tech. My professional interests include behavior and urgent care.

As a Fear Free certified veterinarian, I’m committed to creating a calm, comfortable, and low-stress experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy trivia and collecting interesting (and sometimes useless) facts. I especially love spending time with my wife and fellow veterinarian, Dr. Katherine Amos, and our toddler son. I’m often described as the class clown, and I enjoy bringing a lighthearted energy that keeps both clients and team members smiling.

Hannah

Licensed Veterinary Technician

I have been an LVT since April of 2024! I have been in veterinary medicine since 2020, starting in general practice, and after three years, I decided to move to emergency and urgent care. I love how each case brings something different and continues to help me learn and grow as a technician.

My husband and I have a 7-month-old at home along with 2 dogs, a German shepherd mix and a golden retriever, and 2 cats. When I’m not working, I enjoy staying active and spending quality time with my family. We enjoy being outdoors, whether it’s hiking, exploring new places, or simply throwing the ball around with our dogs.

I am excited to be part of the Nexus family and look forward to seeing this place continue to grow and thrive.

Samira

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Samira studied Veterinary Medical Technology at Wilson College while playing collegiate basketball. She loves dogs and cats, as well as cows!

Mattie

Practice Manager

I’ve been a proud member of our sister location, Hilltop Veterinary Clinic, since 2019. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from Old Dominion University in 2023, and I’ve had a passion for working with animals my entire life.

One of the most rewarding parts of my career is mentoring veterinary professionals and helping create a culture built on compassion, collaboration, and growth. I also love connecting with pet owners and sharing in the joy of the human-animal bond, because I truly understand how important pets are to our lives and families.

Outside of work, I enjoy crocheting, knitting, and ceramics in my free time.

Ahnasia

Veterinary Assistant

Hi I’m Ahnasia! I’ve been a vet assistant for almost 2 years now and am furthering my education in the TCC vet tech program! I volunteer some of my free time assisting in a local cat rescue as well. In my downtime I love all things horror and scary, playing a good video game, gyming and snuggles with my cats!

I have 3 animals in total: Jujun, Avarice (cats) and of course Gaara (ball python). I know plenty of cat and snake fun facts so feel free to ask for one when you see me :)

Nicole

Veterinary Assistant & Client Service Representative

I received my Bachelor of Arts from Marymount Manhattan College in 2016 in NYC. I ended up working in an animal shelter once I got out of college, and I have worked with animals ever since. I have a soft spot for shelter medicine.

I’ve been a veterinary assistant since moving to VA in 2020. My favorite dog breed is the pitbull. I love being an assistant because I love helping animals feel better, and I love being able to help educate clients on their pets. I love being able to learn new things every day! I have two cats of my own named Winter and Toby; they’re both about a year and a half old.

When I’m not working, I enjoy going to see Broadway shows at Chrysler Hall. I love traveling, and I go to Disney a few times a year. I love exploring new cities, and I’m hoping to travel abroad in the next year or so.
